Course Overview
This course is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the requirements when working at height. This includes the use of Personal Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE) using dedicated anchor points and also how to effectively rescue a casualty who is suspended within there PFPE. This course will also teach how to assess working at height tasks and how identify the necessary controls allowing the the task to be undertaken safely. On completion of this course you and your team will be able to identify the dangers of Work at Height and Rescue and will understand key HSE legislations. Attendees will also have a full comprehension on the various categories of PFPE and rescue equipment understanding its characteristics, benefits and any potential limitations.
Course Prerequisites
All trainees are required to be 18 years of age or over and be physically fit with a head for heights.
Who Should Attend?
Those who are required to work within low risk working at height environments such as garage workshops, MEWP baskets, construction sites and factories where access is uncomplicated and anchors are easily identifiable with need for rescue.

- Work categories – an introduction to restraint/position/fall arrest techniques.
- Equipment characteristics and limitations.
- Fitting and use of Personal Fall Protective Equipment (PFPE)
- Personal Protective Equipment pre-user inspection, care, traceability, and disposal requirements.
- Correct care & use of dedicated anchor points (EN795 A, B, C, D & E)
- Syncope - what causes it and how to recognise and deal with the effects
- How to deal with emergency situations – includes requirement for rescue and emergency procedures.
- Rescue of a casualty suspended by their Fall Arrest Equipment
