Ever at the forefront of cutting-edge safety technology, 3M have recently announced the imminent release of their new 3M™ PELTOR™ WS™ ALERT™ XPV headset, the world’s first solar powered self-charging protective communications headset, which is already causing waves of intrigue to ripple through the Safety industry.
Partnering with Swedish firm Exeger, the headset features Powerfoyle™ solar cell technology that will recharge its built-in lithium-ion battery, eliminating the need to use disposable single-use batteries. Combined with the tried and tested innovative features found in their hearing defence range, this headset promises to be a game changer in the industry. Going even further in the effort to remain as green as possible, the headset is also partly manufactured with recycled plastics and electronics.
As well as its innovative charging technology, the headset features a multi-point Quallcomm aptX HD Bluetooth connection and noise cancelling microphone ensuring you can make and receive calls whilst operating in high noise environments. It also integrates ambient listening technology into a Push To Listen (PTL) feature, meaning that you avoid the need to remove the headset to hear any normal level conversations around you whilst on the job.
The headset also ships with the 3M™ Connected Equipment app, allowing you to adjust settings and monitor your battery levels on the go, as well as being able to custom program the multi-function button featured on the headset. Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates also ensure that your headset will always be working at its most optimal settings.
